Paul E. Sargent, Principal, has worked as a financier in institutional and private commercial real estate lending for the past thirty years. His areas of expertise include loan origination, underwriting, portfolio-asset management, development, structured finance, and the secondary loan market.
Mr. Sargent has been involved in the funding of over $1 billion worth of real estate loans in his lending career. With private lending, Sargent manages various family office and partnership funds, along with investing his own monies. He is principal of Oasis Financial (www.oasis-financial.com), a direct private lender and structured finance company, licensed by the Arizona Department of Finance.
Specific private loans funded have ranged from $50,000 to $29,700,000. Institutionally, Sargent has placed loans with more than fifty different organizations, including life companies, pension funds, commercial banks and private money sources. Along with being a correspondent to life companies, he has also served as an Advisor to Arizona’s second largest pension fund ($6 billion in assets), on loan participations.
Previously, Sargent was a senior officer with Bridge Financial Corp. (an AMEX public company), Chase Bank (New York and Arizona), Mellon Bank and Pickrell Mortgage. Paul received his MBA degree from Arizona State University after obtaining a BA from Utah State University. He is active in youth and church organizations, and enjoys travel, racquetball, tennis and golf.
Kevin W. Richards, Principal, has worked in banking, finance and commercial real estate for over 20 years now. His areas of expertise include loan origination, underwriting, loan structuring and financial modeling.
Mr. Richards has been involved in structuring several transactions ranging from highway revenue bonds to equity investments in real estate developments. He has developed long lasting relationships with commercial land investment banks along private equity firms. Mr. Richards started his career as an associate at local investment bank underwriting municipal and corporate bonds. He then was afforded the opportunity to be on the ground floor of a start-up community bank helping grow those assets from $6MM to $500MM in less than 5 years as a senior executive.
Currently, Mr. Richards works with private investors and firms to structure debt and equity capital investments to fulfill the need left by the lack of credit available to real estate builders and investors. Mr. Richards received his BS degree from Arizona State University. Mr. Richards lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife and three children. He can be found being active whether it is in the gym, on the mountain or on the golf course.
Ty C. Stolworthy, Principal, assists all company efforts as an analyst, underwriter, and building relationships.
As an 8th generation Arizonan, and 4th generation Tempean, Mr. Stolworthy enjoys being involved in the Arizona Real Estate market and has great interest watching its constant development. He brings background knowledge along with experience in previous internships. Ty received his BS degree in Finance from Arizona State University in 2020 and currently resides with his wife and two children in Gilbert, Arizona. He enjoys keeping up with sports, family, and his church organization.
